Song Lyric of the Day:

What I do ain’t make believe / People say I sit and try / But when it comes to being De La / It’s just me myself and I

It’s too quiet at home now. Rich is again out of the office, working on site for a freelance client. So I’m here all by my lonesome, with little to no actual work to do. I’m sort of on standby waiting for a colleague to let me know when I can start on my part of the project. Working from home–for this company in particular–is really starting to get to me. I miss the human contact that comes from working in an office, and my assignments are not as challenging or as frequent as they used to be. Not to mention being tied to Outlook since I work in a virtual office environment. Granted, there are advantages–not having to dress up or drive, but at this point, I’d take the tradeoff to be around PEOPLE. I’ve become a much more social person than I was just a few years ago. Really, if I’d landed this job when I first married Rich and moved to Virginia, I would have happily embraced it and gone merrily on my way to becoming the full-blown hermit I almost turned out to be.

Thank God that didn’t happen.

I just updated some new links under Blogs I Like. I came across Dooce and Electrolicious through friends’ blogs, and stumbled across Greek Tragedy on my own. I really relate to these bloggers–they are all women in my age range with an appreciation for the written word. Stephanie Klein, of Greek Tragedy, has a book deal in the works. Ariel, of Electrolicious, is a busy working writer. I feel particularly connected to Stephanie, not only because she is a Manhattanite, but because I have numerous things in common with her, as listed in her “Hundreds of Facts About Me” list (a sampling: item #s 11, 28, 30, 37, and, Rich’s least favorite, #36). Someday, if I write a list like that about myself, I’m going to send it to her.

Holy smoo, our Tivo list is getting really, really long. This weekend I am planning on using our DVR (finally) to burn some Tivoed movies and shows to DVD so they can be cleared off the hard drive. That should make Rich happy. Up in the air is the fate of “Over There,” the new FX show. I can’t decide yet if I should invest my time in watching it, or just delete all the episodes sight unseen. Anyone out there watched it? Any opinions?

I really like Over There. I am a few episodes behind. It is definitely worth watching, if you can stomach it. Ken refuses to watch it though-why watch something you’ve been through…. I don’t remember if you liked Black Hawk Down or not, but if you did you will like this. PS My Tivo is blowing up too!!!! PSS Brent said Mark Paul Goselar is on OVER THERE that is another PLUS!
