8:25PM.

Yay! Tomorrow’s Friday! I live for the weekends, since it means not being at work. Then again, what working stiff doesn’t?

In between now and the start of “CSI” at 9PM, I’ve got to tidy up my office some. Books….everywhere. Also, I need to pay some bills. Fun.

4:50PM.

We watched “Lost” last night, of course. Suffice to say, Rich and I were thrilled to have a new episode air last night after about a month of repeats (which are worth watching again). And after this episode, Kate is even more intriguing, if that’s possible. We now know she killed someone, but we don’t know who or why. Because, in true J.J. Abrams style, we only got a few tantalizing pieces of the puzzle. The whole picture is still unclear. Still, it’s fun stuff.

After “Lost,” we watched “Alias.” I gotta say, after an eight-month wait for the new season, it was completely worth it. Beyond its writing, directing, and acting talents, there is one thing this show is also brilliant at–reinventing itself. The newest incarnation finds our girl Sidney going back to basics–her trying to balance a normal life with her work for the CIA. Always required to pretend to be someone else in her line of work, Sidney needs to be herself outside of the office. Not only does this new incarnation refresh the show for viewers who have been watching from day one (like us), but it’s a great way to introduce the show to new viewers. New year, new beginnings.

In that vein, here are some of my resolutions for 2005. My focus is primarily on healthy mind and body.

  • try to be less judgmental (this is a perennial)
  • stay on course with my work outs
  • eat healthier (last year was an improvement in this sense)
  • get published, dammit!
  • learn new, marketable computer skills
  • do all the house projects I want to do
  • spend more time with friends
  • move back home

Those are the only ones I can remember at the moment. See, that’s what I get for not writing them down sooner.

I really do have faith that this will be a great year. As those close to me know, 2004 started on a really lousy note, but ended on a great one. I hope this trend continues for 2005, and will do what I can to see that it does.
