Keeping Busy

Song Lyric of the Day:

See, I’d have all the money in the world, if I was a wealthy girl. / No man could test me, impress me, my cash flow would never ever end. / Cause I’d have all the money in the world, if I was a wealthy girl.

Well, even though the animals behaved again last night, I was so congested I didn’t sleep well after all. Better luck tonight.

It was so ugly out today I decided to hold off on running my errands until tomorrow. So I puttered around the house, cleaned, got organized. Generally did things I didn’t get around to all week since I was sick and going to bed early every night.

Around 1PM, I set out for 3 Amigos Mexican Restaurant for my lunch date with a close friend, Neelima. We hadn’t been able to get together lately so we had some catching up to do. I think I even managed to impress her by eating salsa that she found really spicy; she knows I’m a total wuss about spicy foods. I’m just proud I remembered to finally burn her a CD with pictures from our trip to the Norfolk Zoo last year when we took her son, Nicky.

After a nice, leisurely lunch, I decided on a whim to stop at the library on the way home. It’s been so long since I’ve been that my card had expired and our old rental house address was still on file. I ended up checking out Wonder Boys and the Pulitzer Prize-winning The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay by Michael Chabon, both of which I’ve been dying to read. I also picked up a thriller by Tess Gerritsen, Life Support, and a chick-lit book, Good in Bed by Jennifer Weiner. I own and have read several of Gerritsen’s books, so I’m sure I’ll like Life Support. As for Good in Bed, I’ve never really been into the chick-lit craze, so we’ll see if I end up liking or hating it. At least I’ve heard good things about it.
