Tonight, a miracle occurred. I watched a movie, “The Forgotten,” completely uninterrupted. I don’t remember the last time this happened. No dogs wrestling in front of the TV, no barking, no phone ringing, no cats hissing. Amazing. If only this was a common thing… Usually it takes Rich and me almost twice a movie’s actual length to get through it. Tonight the movie was only accompanied by the soft sounds of the dogs eating peanut butter out of their Kongs.

Rich is home in Knoxville for the weekend. I’m jealous. I really miss just being able to see my family and (home) friends when I want. He left yesterday and will be back Sunday night.

Again, another miracle occurred last night. I slept straight through for seven hours. The house was completely quiet for once. No cat fights broke out, no dog collars jangled, no hairballs were spit up. I didn’t even have the baby gate up at the bedroom door. And Yum Yum didn’t even have his usual 4/5AM asthma attack. Maybe everyone decided to behave (and health was on YY’s side) and let Mommy have a peaceful night’s sleep because they know she’s been sick since Monday.

Any bets as to whether there will be a repeat tonight? I’d better get going. Caleb wants to check Rich’s office again, just in case he missed him coming home since the last time he checked.

Oh, and the garage door opener completely died this morning. That was great.
