It’s so gorgeous outside today it’s a shame that we all have to work. The temperature is right around 70 degrees, there’s a mild breeze, and the sky is blue as far as I can see. The kind of day to play hooky and go to the beach to fly a kite.
Since I can’t play hooky and go to the beach to fly a kite, I’ve enjoyed my iPod Shuffle all the more today. Last night I finally got around to redeeming my last 4 free iTunes Pepsi caps. The songs I bought are pretty varied, but mostly in the mellow vein: “God’s Child” by David Byrne & Selena, “Sway” by Michael Bublé, “Maps” by Yeah Yeah Yeahs, and “Somewhere Only We Know” by Keane. “God’s Child” is such a beautiful, unique song it makes me wonder how big a star Selena would be today if she hadn’t been killed 10 years ago. And I am now in love with Michael Bublé’s voice. Good music, good times.
