Vegas Redux

Song Lyric of the Day:

Into a world I plunge thru my headphones, escape into the streetlight / I begin to believe in destiny when my surroundings in rhythm with me / I’m just a grain of sand walking in a sea of people / I look around me and my name is just someone

Neneh Cherry / “Move With Me”

10:47PM.
I’m off to Las Vegas in the morning. I’m off to see my friend, Dan, get married. What’s really great this time around is that not only is Brent going, too, but so are my mom and Jonathan and Curry. So I’m going to get to hang with my mommy and friends in the desert heat. Next year, I’ll get Rich out there. Maybe.

My flight leaves at 6AM, which means Rich has to get me to the airport no later than 4:30AM. I’m taking a quick break from packing right now. I’ve got my iPod Shuffle loaded and ready to go. I’ve got Eleven on Top by Janet Evanovich for the flight there, and False Memory by Dean Koontz for the flight back. My laptop case is going to be my carry on. In it I will have my digital camera and its charger, my cell phone charger, my book, my Shuffle, and my diamond earrings. I have Dan’s wedding present in my suitcase. The good thing about going to Las Vegas in the summer is that the clothes are much smaller than when I went in November; this time around, I’m stocked with tank tops, capris, shorts, and my swimsuit. I’m hell bent on getting a tan this weekend.

Mom and I fly out of Las Vegas on Monday morning at 6AM. Another early flight. I’m happy to be going, but I’m going to miss Rich and our babies. I’m sure the weekend will fly by for both of us, though. I’ll be traipsing all over Las Vegas and its surroundings, and Rich is busy busy busy with freelance work. Here’s to a fun, safe trip.

Pattie, I forgot the other night to ask you to describe what the wedding was like in Vegas. Any comments? Did you take more pictures on the way to Vegas that Rich can use? We enjoyed having you two over the other night. Could you tell? We talked your heads off! I’m waiting to get the range hood fan working and then we’ll have you for a meal. Love you, momma carol
