U just leave it all up to me / I’m gonna show u what it’s all about

Prince / “Kiss”

12:28AM.
I am coming off a Prince-inspired high right now thanks to a very fun, karaoke-like drive home with Tamara.

After having dinner with Jonathan and Curry at The Chop House tonight I helped Jonathan finally set up his very own blog, Jonnie’s Forum of Self-Importance. (It’s already been added to my list of People I Know). The whole drive home from Jonnie and Curry’s house Tamara and I were yowling singing along with the Prince CD she has in her car. We even called Rich at one point to include him in our cover of “Let’s Go Crazy.” Once we were home we sang along with “Kiss” for Rich’s listening pleasure. Suffice to say, he was laughing his a$ off at us.

I’ll write more later on today once I’ve gotten some sleep. I’m coming off a caffeine-fueled singing high. But, boy, was it fun.

9:29PM.
Tamara participated in today’s Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation Race for the Cure. Rich and I are very proud of her for actively participating in such a noble cause, particularly since my mom is now a four-year breast cancer survivor. It especially means a lot to me that Tamara walked in honor of my mom, while a friend of hers walked in memory of Tamara’s own mother. Through the years, Tamara has been a constant source of strength in my life (in all our lives), for countless reasons. Hats off to our wonderful doctor.

Once the race ended, Tamara called us so we could meet for lunch. Rich and I were finishing up picking out mattes and frames for his upcoming art show‘s pieces so we decided to meet at a nearby pizzeria which got a great writeup in a local weekly. We met up only to discover there was some construction going on and the restaurant wouldn’t open until 4:30PM. We then hopped into the Xterra and headed over to the Mellow Mushroom on campus. When you’re craving pizza, you’re craving pizza. Tamara’s friend, Chuck, even met us at the restaurant. Chuck ended up following us back to our house, where all of us (minus Rich) piled into Tamara’s car to run to the mall and to Kohl’s.

Rich stayed home to continue working on the last piece for his November 4 art show at Three Flights Up Gallery‘s First Friday event next month. What can I say? I’m so proud of my amazing husband, not only for making the most of his artistic gift but for succeeding in securing a place in the First Friday show. I can’t wait to see the impression he makes on our local art community. So please join us and support Rich and the other local artists who want nothing more than to share their art with the world. And to maybe sell some of their work.

Yay! Jonnie posted a genuine introductory blog entry! I’m so proud. And I, for one, will never, ever criticize his use of parentheses (seeing as how I use them myself all the time).

Hmm. Rich just passed by, overheard what’s playing on iTunes, and pointed out that I’m officially addicted to Coldplay‘s music. It’s true. I can’t stop listening to their music since the concert. They’re just that good.
