Whiling the Days Away

Song Lyric of the Day:

Tiny tiny, a little faith / I bet he played a little, bend the norm / Stay still, sit up straight / You know you got to concentrate

Sweet. My “Underworldscore CD arrived today. I ordered it off of Target’s website on Friday; can’t beat the quick delivery time.

Rich worked from home today so late this afternoon we went to Home Depot for an impromptu kitchen design session. I say impromptu because even though we are in the preliminary stages of planning our new kitchen, we went in empty-handed. As in, we forgot to take our written measurements of our existing kitchen. As in, we didn’t know for sure how wide or how tall our refrigerator is. The result was a cool printout of what our kitchen will look like if any of our guesstimates were even remotely close to the existing kitchen dimensions. Which we’re pretty sure they’re not. Next time we’ll be sure to remember the measurments.

We came home to feed and walk the dogs, and then headed back out to meet Renee, Russ, Jason, Roxanna, Ash, and Heather at Ginza Japan for dinner. We had a great time watching our chef prepare our Hibachi dinners–the food was fantastic. The company was great, too. I had fun talking to Roxanna since I didn’t really get a chance to talk to her the other night during our get together, and talked more with Jason and Russ, as well. It was a bit hard to hear what Rich, Heather, Ash, and Renee were saying on their side of the table, but I managed to talk with them a bit, too. That’s the thing about dinner at a Japanese steakhouse–the grill table settings aren’t exactly conducive for conversation. I think we made do quite well, though.

We left the restaurant at about a quarter to ten and headed up the street to Barnes & Noble for late night refreshments; I’ll probably have the rest of my cheesecake for breakfast tomorrow. (Cheesecake=pastry=breakfast food). We said our goodnights and headed home, where Rich started playing “World of Warcraft” and I checked out tonight’s episode of “Nip/Tuck.” Let me just say how the past two weeks of this show have been very impressive indeed. The twists the writers have thrown in have been surprising, intriguing, and, in tonight’s case, expected but still shocking. I can’t wait to see what else is in store for the remainder of this season.
