As you can tell by my blog title, I’m still feeling under the weather today. Whatever it is I have (cold, sinus infection) just keeps shifting around. Today it has landed in my chest, which is making me feel just super great. Just what I wanted, in time for Thanksgiving–a hacking cough!

At least I finally finished writing a cover letter and updating a resume for a friend of mine. That’s what I used to do for a living–write resumes. I wrote between 3500 and 3700, give or take a few. Rich used to call me a bullsh!t artist of the highest order, which I took (and still take) as a compliment. My sister once told me I made her crap job sound glamorous. If that’s not a testament to my writing abilities, what is?

So very sad…I just read on MSNBC.com about the death of Bill Harris. A Hurricane Katrina survivor, Mr. Harris garnered national attention due to his desire to be reunited with his beloved “miracle” cat, Miss Kitty. His story was inspirational in that he showed what many of us pet owners feel at all times–an absolute, unconditional bond with our pets. I’m happy he at least was reunited with Miss Kitty and got to regularly visit with her during his last few days. May he rest in peace.

I finally mustered up enough energy to get off the couch. The upside to being sick and couch potatoing it is that I’ve been able to clear a lot of stuff off our Tivo by burning it to DVD–the usual: shows for Samantha, some stuff for Jonathan, a DVD for Benjamin. I’m also burning this season’s episodes of Arrested Development to DVD just for me.

Our friends Heather and Ashley are here right now. Heather and Rich are drawing a still life while Ashley entertains himself on his laptop computer. The good thing about friends is they’re understanding when you’re not feeling too well and, therefore, not terribly social. Heather and Ashley even brought food for dinner, which is heating in the oven and filling the house with a wonderful aroma. (See, I can smell a little bit despite being very congested). After we eat, I might retreat to our bedroom downstairs and pass out for a while. We’ll see.

I’m still thinking about my Christmas list. I’ll send it to your e-mail address.

    Take care of yourself,
