And We’re Baacccckk

Lights out guerilla radio / Turn that sh!t up

9:25AM.
Yesterday was a typical Monday. I did housework, looked for jobs, ran errands, had lunch with Jonathan and Curry, made chicken fajitas for dinner, enjoyed the hell out of the hilarious new episode of Arrested Development (more on that later), and went over to Jonathan and Curry’s
house around 9PM to sign the paperwork for the medical experiment that starts tomorrow. I ended up hanging around with them and watching a repeat of CSI: Miami I hadn’t seen, complete with their adorable dog, Mojo, snuggled in my lap the whole time.

I just got back from taking Belle and Snoops to the vet for their drop-off appointment. On the drive there, I tuned in to WIVK in the hopes of catching the Muse Watson (Prison Break) interview they conducted. Sure enough, it came on right after 8AM. Mr. Watson came across as friendly and sincere as his fans know him to be. I knew he lived in East Tennessee for a while, but it was news to me that he taught acting in a Georgia penitentiary. Very interesting. He was also truly grateful for the support the radio station and fans have given the show; he said Wentworth Miller (swoon) and the rest of the cast also greatly appreciate support for the show. Mr. Watson also mentioned that Fox is considering bringing the show back in January, not March, which would be great. (See–my first genuine entertainment scoop right here on my blog! Sweeeeet). But I’ll take what I can get; even if it comes back in March, that’s still better than May as originally planned.
Hmmm…yet more publicity for the Fox network, its shows, and its stars from this unemployed, TV-addicted writer. Ah, if only the powers that be would stumble across my dinky little site here, read through my archives, and hire me. Stop laughing. I can dream, can’t I?

7:27PM.
I’ve been home a grand total of maybe two hours since dropping Snoops and Belle off at the vet this morning. I went to the recycling center, got an oil change for the Xterra, went by McKay’s (ah, how I’ve missed the Holy Land), went grocery shopping, made a 15 minute pit stop by the house to drop off the groceries, and headed back to the vet to pick up the kids. While I was home I printed up some photos of my babies to give to the vet staff for display on their bulletin board. Here’s the recent one of Snoops in our backyard which will be on display at the vet:Belle’s biggest health problem (aside from her legendary obesity) is that she really needs her teeth cleaned, which she’ll have done right after Christmas. My poor Snoops, on the other hand, has been diagnosed with bad arthritis. So my baby girl will be heading back to the vet in a few days for bloodwork and x-rays to determine which anti-inflammatories or other medications will be helpful to her.

Once I got home this evening, I set about making dinner for my overworked, breadwinner of a website/graphic-designer husband. And now here I am, updating the good ol’ blog.

Tomorrow morning will be the first of the three days for the medical experiment in which I’m participating with Jonathan. Should I survive (which I undoubtedly will), I’ll walk away with $500 in Christmas money, as will Jonnie. Basically, we’ll be in a room with a researcher and we’ll be hooked up to five different monitoring machines. Every once in a while, smoke or odors will be pumped into the room, and our body’s reactions will be recorded by the machines. The smells will range from air freshener scent to cooking oil to cigarette smoke, which is fitting since the study is sponsored by Philip Morris. Don’t worry, though–OSHA is going to be monitoring the project every step of the way. The room will be equipped with a TV and DVD player on which Jonathan and I can watch whatever we want. And guess what we’ve decided to watch our first day in the box–that’s right, Prison Break! So far, I’ve burned the first four episodes and Behind the Walls special to DVD for Jonnie, and we’ve decided to use our research time to introduce him to the show. Should be fun (cough, cough).

11:07PM.
Wow. Nip/Tuck tonight. Talk about a surprise ending. Holy crap.

You’d be a great muse/matron of the artist formerly known as the dude who was once called that fella what draws pictures.
