Song Lyric of the Day:

What I like about you, you keep me warm at night / Never wanna let you go, know you make me feel alright, yeah

The Romantics / “What I Like About You”

3:49PM. Taking a quick break from the guest bathroom/laundry room reconstruction project. Surfed a bit, and found my new wallpaper. Thanks to Just Jared for the image. Always an excellent source of Wentworth Miller photos.7:40PM.
Rich is downstairs preparing a chicken stir fry for dinner. While I am the steak and pasta queen in our household, he is the stir fry and seafood king. Good balance, don’t you think?

Speaking of food, I’ve had some nice family lunches of late. Yesterday, since I was in Oak Ridge and right up the street from it, I ordered a large pepperoni and green pepper pizza from Big Ed’s. I then took it and drove to Sam’s place of work to have lunch with her. I had fun hanging out with her and was amused by how many people’s heads popped in the break room door asking, “Is that Big Ed’s?” After lunch with Sam, I went to the Maryville Lowe’s to see if they have the rectangular seagrass baskets I need to finish my guest bathroom shelf reorganization. No dice at that location, which stunk. I then went to Target to buy me some happy and spend the gift card Momma Carol and Papa Doug gave me for Christmas. I bought a couple of nice, long-sleeved tops. As Dad and Samantha both do, I bought two of the same style, one in purple and one in brown, which for some reason drives Mom crazy. The fact that I almost never buy anything patterned also bugs her.

Today I picked up Chick-Fil-A and took it to Mom’s theater to have lunch with her. I had fun catching up with her and ended up confiding in her my fear that I won’t get the job I’m interviewing for next week. I’m trying really hard to be positive, fairly optimistic that I have an advantage in that I’m younger than most people in my field (hence, cheaper to buy) and that I’ve worked for the company before. At this point, the mere thought of a steady paycheck is making my mouth water. Rich and I can start rebuilding our savings, start our kitchen remodel, and I can finally pay off my credit cards, all in pretty short order. I say in pretty short order because Rich has been busting his ass working his day job and working freelance, going above and beyond the call of duty as a provider, keeping us financially afloat. The icing on the cake will be that once my credit cards are paid off, I can get my new toy. Cross your fingers for me.
