I just got a call from the company with whom I interviewed over two weeks ago, and good things might be happening soon–I might be working in a trailer on a construction site in the near future. And I’m actually very excited about that. Cross your fingers for me!

Honestly, the thought of earning real money again has me drooling like Paris Hilton after a night out partying.

Even though I feel like I need to be right next to the home phone right now, I think I’m going to risk going out and running a quick errand. I will multitask, though, and leave the Grey’s Anatomy episode “It’s the End of the World” burning to DVD for Samantha while I’m out. Then I can burn the following episode, “As We Know It,” when I get back and delete both off Tivo. Like millions of other people, I tuned in to GA for the first time after the Super Bowl. And while I still don’t like the lead actress, the show was really good and I’ll probably try to catch a few more episodes. I’ll go ahead and admit that part of the reason I’ll watch again is Patrick Dempsey; the man is aging beautifully (see also: John Stamos). I can now watch GA since my Sunday night viewing lineup has been whittled down by the deletion of Desperate Housewives off of Tivo Season Pass. That asinine Fear Factor-esque storyline with Tom last week? The writers’ terrible second season streak continues unabated.

I didn’t miss the phone call while I was out running my errand. My fingers are still crossed…

I ended up going to McKay’s Used Books while I was out and lucked out in finding The Next Accident by Lisa Gardner in hardcover for $2. This store is like the holy land for me; I almost always find something on each visit, whether it’s a book I need for my collection or a CD I’ve been looking for.

I’m almost done burning the last two episodes of Grey’s Anatomy to DVD. Next up are the first three (and most likely only) episodes of Love Monkey to be aired. At least someday I will probably get to see the remaining, unaired episodes on DVD. Until then, though, I’m still going to hope CBS changes its mind. Maybe if they rename it CSI: Love Monkey, it’ll pick up steam. Stranger things have happened.

I’d like to call some attention to the links I’ve added to my blog for the American Cancer Society Relay for Life 2006. I have participated in the event, an overnight fundraising effort, the past two years; I actually developed bursitis in my right hip from walking so much the first year and ended up reinjuring myself last year. But it’s worth it, and I will do it again this June.

This year I have decided I want to do and raise even more, so I have started my very own team, the Tennessee Purple People Cancer Eaters. I named the team after the one on which I walked the last two years in Virginia, led by my very dear friend, Sharon. I walk not only in honor of my mother, a 4 1/2 year breast cancer survivor, but in support of everyone I know affected by cancer. So if you can, please donate to a very worthy cause. Better yet, if you’re local, join the team. The more, the merrier.

10:25PM.
I just finished watching Legally Blonde on TV. I was convalescing thanks to some sugar-free, black cherry Jell-o. I think I’m done with that particular flavor.

I once spent 11 months working in a jobsite construction trailer. It was uber-casual, which was all kinds of awesome. Prepare to get hit on constantly, though.

Just tell them you’re taken, and that your jealous husband is a blackbelt.

Don’t tell them it’s a patent leather from Kohls.
