‘Twas the Night Before Surgery

Song Lyric of the Day:

The iron hand / Did not understand / The plight of the common man

Starsailor / “Four to the Floor”

11:03PM.
Still trying not to freak out about my surgery; I have a pain threshold akin to that of the Republican party’s sense of humor. The fact that I can’t eat or drink anything from midnight tonight until after my 1PM surgery tomorrow isn’t helping; I’m going to be nice and queasy by the time I get into the operating room. Which is why I’m going to enjoy a nice, big chocolate chip cookie and a glass of chocolate milk as soon as I finish this post. The ensuing stomachache will totally be worth it.

I did manage to get a lot done at work today, so I didn’t leave any critical projects up in the air. If all goes well, I’ll be back at work Tuesday. Of course, if I’m still bruised and look like I got caught in the middle of a Britney/K-Fed-Ex smackdown, I’ll work from home that day. I’m just not that good with makeup.

Speaking of dumping a lot of talentless dead weight — not to say that “Popozao” isn’t an insta-classic; it most definitely is, just not for the right reasons — the world seems to be going break-up crazy lately. Reese filed for divorce from Ryan. Daniel Baldwin kissed sobriety goodbye again (sadly). The Republicans dumped good ol’ Rummy. And America tossed the Republicans out of the Senate (thank you, Virginia! Woot!). Of course, those last two prove that not all breakups are bad.

Okay, that’s actually the first time that I’ve enjoyed watching James Lipton do anything! His manner when interviewing actors is normally far too dry and overly-earnest for me!
