Grief

Song Lyric of the Day:

There are no guarantees in life / Not for the present / Not for the future / All I know is / That I’m here / Don’t know for how long

Kate Havnevik / “Unlike Me”

10:30PM.
We’re mourning a death in the family. Ken’s father, my sister Vanessa’s father-in-law, died unexpectedly Wednesday night. Coming literally on the heels of another sad event in our family, we’ve all had a hell of a week.

Rich and I unfortunately didn’t get to know Dr. Elliott Pood nearly as well as we would have liked, but we enjoyed the few times we did get to spend with him. Ken, his mother, and his sisters are in our thoughts.

I know he was a truly good, kind man simply because my sister — his daughter-in-law — is grieving for him as much as his own children are.

    Pattie,

We also are sorry to hear of Dr. Pood’s passing. Seems like we just saw him at the wedding but he seemed like a very nice guy.

Glad to hear your Mom is ok. Will get more details when I get home.

    See you soon,
    Momma Carol
