To the Doctor I Will Go

Song Lyric of the Day:

I don’t (don’t know) what you could possibly expect under this condition so / I’ll wait (I’ll wait) for the ambulance to come (ambulance to come) / Pick us up off the floor

Jack’s Mannequin / “Dark Blue”

9:51PM.
I’ve been battling the stomach bug from hell the last few days
. Friday, to be exact. So I’m finally giving in and going to the doctor in the morning. I’m tired of everything I eat making me sick, not to mention alternating between burning up with fever and feeling like I’m going to freeze to death (my temperature was a seasonably cool 96.8F this morning).

Overwhelming feeling of nausea and stomach cramps aside, the last couple of weeks have been good. I was reminded again of how cool it is to work for my company when I got to meet Clive Pearse, host of HGTV Design Star and Designed to Sell on March 16.
See, here’s proof:I have to say, meeting him in person I totally get why his fans love him so much. The guy is all charm and very friendly. When Caren, who was nice enough to drive us to headquarters, told him the two of us had worked on the online side of some of his projects, he pulled us aside to talk shop for a few minutes. Caren and I both got pictures with him along with autographs for our moms, which prompted Clive to joke about how all his travels occasionally make him forget when Mother’s Day is since the holiday falls on a different day in England than it does here.

Then last Monday and Tuesday, I got to attend a two-day boot camp training session (on-site at the office), which I really enjoyed. I now have a much greater insight into what a lot of my colleagues do versus what I do, even though we work on the same projects. Think along the lines of that Sesame Street song “One of These Things Is Not Like the Others.”

Sunday I ran around with Caren, taking photographs at Ramsey House Plantation and Marble Springs. We also explored a cemetery, found a horse skeleton(!) along the shore of the Holston River, and checked out the new houses behind my house. Busy day.And now I’m off to get ready for bed and finish watching my binky movie, When Harry Met Sally…. It’s been months since I’ve watched it, and I’m sick right now. Basically, it’s just what I need.
