The Return of the Nocturnal Blogger

Song Lyric of the Day:

So if your life flashed before you, what would you wish you would’ve done? / Yeah, we gotta start lookin’ at the hands of the time we’ve been given / If this is all we got, then we gotta start thinkin’ / If every second counts on a clock that’s tickin’ / Gotta live like we’re dying

Kris Allen / “Live Like We’re Dying

After I recently wrote about some personal drama going on in my life, I really thought things were going to improve. Actually, I needed for things to improve. Unfortunately, one of the situations got far worse. As in relationships ended because things got so bad. I wish I could say the way things turned out was a surprise, but it really wasn’t. Which is why I’m bucking up and moving on.

The best way for me to deal with all the various shitstorms that have been raining down has been to keep busy. I’m immersed in planning for the 2010 American Cancer Society Relay for Life Downtown Knoxville event (support us on Facebook and make a donation here if you’re so inclined). Rich and I have enjoyed shopping for Christmas decorations and gifts, particularly for the nephews. I’ve gone out with friends. I see my family as often as I can. I’m re-watching all my Pixar movies. I’m hoping to find the time to once again regularly update ye olde blog during daytime hours. Staying busy has helped. What’s really helped, though, has been to just move on. If I dwell on certain things that have recently transpired, I’ll be right back where I was a few weeks ago: chugging antacids and crying (OK, bawling) at the drop of a hat. After all is said and done, though, I am just doing my best to believe things will get better soon. They have to, right?
