Time for Relay for Life 2010

Song Lyric of the Day:

When there is no place safe and no safe place to put my head / When you feel the world shake from the words that are said / And I’m calling all angels / I’m calling all you angels

Train / “Calling All Angels

I’ll keep this short since I am once again updating from Panera (guess who got canceled this morning — that’s right, Comcast! Wankers.), but I wanted to give everyone another chance to donate to the American Cancer Society Relay for Life Downtown Knoxville event. My team, the Tennessee Purple People Cancer Eaters is at 83% of our goal — a few bucks more, and we can reach or hopefully even surpass our goal. You can go here to make a donation. Feel free to donate to one of my teammates who hasn’t yet received any online donations — all the money’s going to the same place. And go here to read all about why I do this year after year. Including today, when I’m almost 27 weeks pregnant and the high temperature is supposed to be a balmy 92 degrees.

I encourage all locals to head down to the World’s Fair Park tonight to show our community their support. I know plenty cancer survivors — my mom included — and countless caregivers, family members, and friends who would appreciate it.

*You can follow me on Twitter to see some updates on the event throughout the day and overnight.
