Song Lyric of the Day:

So speak no louder than a whisper / Means we’re running from winter
So speak no louder than a song / Means we’re falling all day, falling all day long

Idlewild / “No Emotion

I just finished reading Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows and I’m still sniffling a little bit. Don’t worry, I won’t say anything to spoil the book — God knows, I’ve avoided reading the news and blogs for days. All it took to finish was reading non-stop from 3PM until 1:15AM; sleeping, and resuming reading at 10AM this morning. Was the final installment worth not doing anything else? Without a doubt.

Thank you, J.K. Rowling, for sharing Harry, Hermione, Ron, Hagrid, Dumbledore, and everyone else in your magical world with us. Thank you for making us believe in magic again.

I’m having trouble getting into my latest Netflix rental, Synesthesia, since I’m still coming down from my Harry Potter high, so I took a break to read the news. You know, the news I’ve avoided for days out of paranoia of spoilers. Lo and behold, the Knoxville News-Sentinel online linked to my post yesterday in an article about East Tennessee bloggers and Harry Potter. Nifty.

Harry Potter and the Late Delivery

Song Lyric of the Day:

Move your body like a hairy troll / Learning to rock and roll / Spin around like a crazy elf / A dancin’ by himself / I boogie down like a unicorn / No stoppin’ till the break of dawn

The Weird Sisters / “Do the Hippogriff

Where the HELL is UPS? I know for a fact (thank you, package tracking) that our copy of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows has been in Knoxville since 6:49AM yesterday. It’s been “in transit for final destination” since 10:21AM yesterday. So why is it NOT HERE YET?

I’m climbing the walls. I’ve lost precious reading hours. Shit, if I’d known the book would arrive this late, I would’ve tried to buy a copy at the Borders party we went to last night. (In my haste to get ready for the party, I forgot to hit publish on last night’s post, but it’s live now.)

God, I’m cranky. That book better get here soon.

If I’d known the book delivery required a signature, I would’ve made sure Rich hadn’t left the house right after I ran out to pick up a prescription! The curse words I shouted when I read that “will be available for pickup after 9AM on 7/23” postcard — I am my father’s daughter. So seeking an emergency copy, I ran to the Wal-Mart by the house and bought the book. I couldn’t NOT have this book to read today.

Gallons of soda and sugar later, I’m up to page 268 (out of 784). That’s with two bathroom breaks, taking the time to make a microwave cookie, and running to the garage for a 2-liter of Pepsi. I’ll read until I can read no more tonight.

I’m up to page 446. And still not tired.
