My youngest cat, Yum Yum, died this morning. He was only 10 years old and, hands down, the only pet I’ve ever had who was more like a baby than a pet. I’ll try to write more about him later, since I’m still really weepy at the moment. I can cry more freely at home later than I can in my cube here at work.

Poor little Yum Yum. He was definitely more like a baby than a kitty. And he only loved YOU! I loved when he tried to get me to pet him and he pulled his “wheeze-hiss” routine on me! We are all going to miss him.

Been thinking about you. I can remember coming to that first little house you had by yourself and seeing Yum Yum’s picture on the frig. That’s how I met him. Yum Yum was a very fortunate cat to have had your wonderful caring attention all these years. We’ll miss hearing you tell of his adventures. Hope with time it will hurt a little less.
