Revved for the Relay

Song Lyric of the Day:

With all of the words in all of my life that could never explain and never describe / All of my love, which is nothing to hide so I lift up my hands and I worship / I worship You

12:38PM.
I’m almost finished loading gear into the Xterra for the American Cancer Society Relay for Life. I’m taking my MacBook with me in the hopes that I’ll pick up a free wi-fi signal from the hotel next to the World’s Fair Park. So I might be able to blog tonight, I might not. Either way, thanks to everyone for their support (it’s still not too late to donate) — it really means a lot to me. I’m excited and a bit apprehensive about tonight, which is par for the course. This year is especially poignant for me in that one of my donors, John, lost his mother this past March to pancreatic cancer, while another donor, Charles, has a 33-year-old friend losing her battle to stomach cancer. And my best friend’s grandmother recently lost her fight against cancer. They, along with my mom, a 5 1/2 year breast cancer survivor, are why I will keep doing this every year I’m able.

Please keep us in your thoughts tonight during our walk.
