The Throes of Addiction

Song Lyric of the Day:

I don’t wanna chitter-chat / Turn it down a little bit / Or turn it down flat / Pump it up when you don’t really need it

Elvis Costello / “Pump It Up”

12:00PM.
I just visited the Watch with Kristin message boards where someone started a thread about what TV shows people are watching this season. Lord help me, my list is out of control:

Sunday: Cold Case, The Simpsons, Family Guy, Desperate Housewives, Rome
Monday: Arrested Development, Kitchen Confidential, Prison Break
Tuesday: Bones, Supernatural, The Office, My Name is Earl, Nip/Tuck
Wednesday: Lost, Veronica Mars
Thursday: Alias, CSI, Without a Trace
Friday: nothing except all the stuff Tivo’d throughout the week
Saturday: SNL

The dual-tuner Tivo makes it all possible. And those are just the shows I can remember off the top of my head; I’m pretty sure that’s the whole list, though. Of those, I do not regularly watch “Cold Case;” “Alias” has been Tivo’d the whole season but not yet watched; “Kitchen Confidential” might not be around for the whole season; and I might drop “Desperate Housewives” after this week (it’s experiencing more than a sophomore slump).

Regardless, that’s approximately 15 hours of my life (minus commercials) spent on TV each week, not counting newscasts, movies, or TV shows on DVD (“Firefly,” anyone?) I might watch.

So now I just need to find a job where I can get paid to write about what I watch. Then I’ll be living the dream. Okay, I’ll be living my dream.

And just think–I still manage to be productive despite all the TV viewing I do. Ah, the wonder of it.

I would be the happiest person alive if I got paid for watching all the tv I do. Plus Kristin gets to go to awesome parties and visits the sets of tons of shows. I’m so jealous!
