Muse Watson, You Made My Day–and Then Some

Song Lyric of the Day:

But I’m the only one / Who’ll walk across the fire for you / I’m the only one / Who’ll drown in my desire for you

Holy sh!t!!! I finally checked my email this morning after spending the whole weekend with family, and what do I see in my inbox? A comment from none other than Mr. Muse Watson (Westmoreland on Prison Break)!!! That’s right–he stopped by my blog and commented on one of my many entries about his awesome show. I’m pretty sure it’s genuinely from him since I’ve read how he interacts with fans in chat rooms and visits fansites. Yay me!

So let me take a moment to say, thank you, Mr. Watson. You more than made this Prison Break fan’s day. Hope to see you in tonight’s episode!

P.S.–If you can, put in a good word about Arrested Development with Fox for me. Thanks.

Hmmm…there’s a prison riot underway on One Life to Live. And the police commissioner used the words “prison break.” Wonder where they got the idea?

I only had OLTL on while I ate lunch. Honestly. I’ve been weaning myself off the ABC soaps over the last few weeks and now only occasionally watch them, hence all the home improvement projects that keep me busy and keep the TV off.

Yay! Westmoreland (Muse Watson) is in! In on the plan to get out, that is. And he is D.B. Cooper, to boot; Michael believed it all along, as did all of us loyal Prison Break fans. Once again, Watson hit the dramatic moments out of the park. The look on his face when Pope (Stacy Keach) told him his daughter was dying was truly heartbreaking; you really feel for him and want him to get to see her and say goodbye. I’m just so happy that Westmoreland is going to break out (yes, I’m aware he’s not actually real, but he’s real to me, dammit); I hated the thought of him being left behind in prison by himself. Now who will Michael decide is expendable from the escape team? Very clever use of the fancy watch, courtesy of Tweener, and the tape recorder, by the way. I have to say, Wentworth Miller has got to be the most beautiful man to play an engineer ever on a primetime show. Ahem. Anyhoo, I think T-Bag and C-Note would be the most expendable, if only because neither one of them is truly contributing anything to the escape plan. I’m aware Sucre does not seem to be contributing much, either, but at least he’s not on the team because he blackmailed his way on. He’s also very likable and a fellow Puerto Rican, so I’m rooting for him to win Maricruz back once he’s out. I ended up not hating Michael’s wife, Nika, but felt awful when Sara saw them hug after their “conjugal” visit. I also felt bad for Michael after his talk with Sara on the prison yard.

As for the people outside the prison, Rich had to talk me down when I was yelling about Nick (Frank Grillo) getting shot in the cabin. I was worried he wasn’t going to make it, not to mention LJ and Veronica getting away from Quinn; both characters have been through more than enough already. Judging from next week’s preview, though, Nick, LJ, and Veronica don’t quite make the clean getaway they’d hoped for. Suspicious as to whether Michael’s marriage is for real, Bellick went to the club where Nika works and threatened her to make her tell what Michael needed from her; turns out Nika’s not good at keeping secrets when put under some pressure.

Now l
et me give a shout out to the writers of this show (writers never get enough credit). Michael’s escape plan is getting more and more complicated; the conspiracy more labyrinthian; no one, but no one, is safe; and the tension is off the scale. Basically, the show continues to get more involving and more exciting with each new episode (listen up, Fox). So thanks for writing such a fun, involving, inventive show. And thanks to Paul T. Scheuring for creating the show in the first place.

Now that I’ve gotten my Prison Break recap out of the way, my next update will be all about family time this weekend. Promise.
