Swamped and the Return of Pantsless Pattie

I feel a hot wind on my shoulder / And the touch of a world that is older / I turn the switch and check the number / I leave it on when in bed I slumber

The work of a housewife is never done. I’ve been busybusybusy today on the job search front, the Christmas shopping front, the writing front, and, of course, the home front. Which is why I’m now overheated.

And, yes, I am pantsless as I write this.

9:36PM.
The Golden Globe nominations were announced today. Aside from the glaring omissions (IMHO) of Arrested Development and The Office for best comedy series (Desperate Housewives?! Puhleez.), and Jason Bateman for best performance by an actor-comedy, I’m generally pleased with the nominations. I mean, my fantasy second husband, Wentworth Miller, got nominated for best performance by an actor-drama on the also-nominated Prison Break. So at least the Hollywood Foreign Press Association got that right. I won’t nitpick too much about the other glaring omissions (also IMHO) of Robert Knepper, Muse Watson, and Stacy Keach for supporting performances in a drama (Prison Break); or the fact that Nip/Tuck and Without a Trace were completely shut out (where were Julian, Dylan, Anthony, and Enrique?); or that Desperate Housewives managed to get so many nominations for an absolutely horrid second season, or–Ah, hell, this is why I like the Screen Actors Guild Awards more, anyway. They not only manage to get the nominations right but also give out ensemble cast awards, which I think the GGs and the Emmys should do. I’ll just have to have faith that the casts of Arrested Development and Prison Break will get their due early next year from their peers in SAG. Here’s hoping.
