Misadventures in Home Improvement: The Ugly Wall

Song Lyric of the Day:

Before you can read me you got to learn how to see me, I said / Free your mind and the rest will follow

En Vogue / “Free Your Mind”

11:10PM.
Rich and I are going to pick out a new paint color for our
bedroom tomorrow. We need to undo the ugliness that is our attempt at glazing our walls.

Here’s the before color. Pretty, isn’t it? You should’ve seen it when it had the two-foot-tall jungle animal-themed border when we first moved in. No, I’m not kidding. I’ll have to post pics of that someday.
Here’s the long wall primed save for the drying patch of drywall that Rich put in to fill in the hole left by the intercom we removed. Because that’s just what you want right over your bed. An intercom. Here’s the small wall after Rich glazed it. We still haven’t found the vandal who came into our house and smeared a poo-like substance all over the wall.

A close up of the ugliness. As you can see, Rich and I have a long way to go before our vision of a beautiful, romantic bedroom room is realized. And that way involves another coat of primer and at least two coats of glossy interior paint.

Pray for us.
