Thai Me Up, Thai Me Down

Song Lyric of the Day:

Don’t think about all those things you fear / Just be glad to be here

After days of craving Thai food (I blame Caren), Rich and I took lunch together and went to Taste of Thai today (ah, sweet alliteration). Normally, our visits are great. The service is always good, the food is always delicious, and we’re in and out with no problem. Maybe because it’s Monday, today’s visit just wasn’t up to par. Actually, compared to how enjoyable our visits there usually are, today downright sucked.

It took forever to get the spring rolls that come with lunch entrees, and ours were only lukewarm when we did finally get them. At least the crab and cream cheese appetizers were hot and fresh; I could eat those things until I pop. Or have a massive heart attack on account of one too many crab and cream cheese rolls shoving a fat clog into an artery. You get the idea.

Our entrees took a very long time to be delivered to our table. Rich and I shared worried glances when a different server than the one who took our orders came to our table to ask what exactly we’d originally ordered more than 20 minutes earlier.

Once our entrees did arrive, we were both disappointed by how bland and flavorless they were. New chef? Who knows. We just know that we may not be visiting again for a while.

At least the Panera Bread next door had my favorite strawberry and cream cheese pastries in stock; that’ll be a nice afternoon snack.

My love of cream cheese is going to be the end of me someday.
